At least eight people are feared dead and around 40 others have been wounded in an explosion in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.
The incident took place earlier today in Keshm district after a suicide bomber detonated a motorcycle packed with explosives in a market place, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
According to reports, a number of the children are also among those killed or wounded and several have been damaged.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident and the main target of the attack yet to be ascertained.
This was the third explosion carried out by the militants today which follows by two back to back explosions in capital Kabul that left at least 14 dead.
The first blast took place in the 9th police district of the city that left 14 Nepalese guards dead while the second blast targeted a lawmaker in Chel Siton area.
The Taliban group claimed responsibility for both the explosions in Kabul city.
