The Medical Committee in Taiz has disclosed a closure of 34 government and private hospitals in the Government of Taiz due to the war launched by the forces of Al Houthi and those loyal to the ousted Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh against populations in the governorate.
The committee also said that due to the violations committed by the rebels, 65 medical centres and 43 pharmacies were closed.
The besieged city is suffering from a number of humanitarian disasters including the increase of prices, the weak purchasing power of the population and the disappearance of basic materials in the markets which has resulted in a number of deaths due to shortage of oxygen gas cylinders and medicines for chronic diseases in hospitals.
