Yemeni military sources said a leader of Houthi militias was killed alongside four of his companions in an ambush by legitimate forces in Shabwah province.
The sources told the Arabic-speaking Sky News on Tuesday that Houthi leader Abu Hussein al Saqaf was killed during a military operation that targeted his convoy while passing between Shabwah and Baydah governorates.
Meanwhile, four personnel of the national army and popular resistance forces were killed when militants fired a rocket at their post in Shabwah’s Usaylan district.
The two sides had been engaged in clashes for hours, the sources noted.
