Alan Hansen believes international defences won't be looking forward to facing Andy Carroll at this summer's European Championships - and the Scot admitted: 'I wouldn't want to be up against him!' The Liverpool striker was named in manager Roy Hodgson's squad earlier this week for the tournament in Ukraine and Poland following a commanding end to the 2011-12 season. And one of the greatest centre-backs to have ever represented the Reds reckons no defender would fancy their chances of containing Carroll at the moment. Hansen said: "Roy will have watched the Cup final and the game against Chelsea recently on television - and Andy was excellent. "I would not want to play against Andy Carroll because when the ball is chipped into the box, he's going to win it. "Not only is he going to win it, he's going to make life so uncomfortable for defenders that they'll start making mistakes - and we saw that recently." Hansen added: "Andy Carroll against Chelsea at Anfield was unplayable, as he was when he came on in the Cup final. "Everyone looks to Andy to be dominant in the air when the ball comes into the box and in his last six games, you wouldn't want to be playing against him, that's for sure."
