Arsène Wenger admits it is crucial for players and managers in the modern age to be able to deal with the "hate" that comes from opposing fans. This season a number of figures within the game have complained about the levels of abuse that some supporters vent during matches. And Wenger says that all players can do is ensure they are ready for it when they step out on to the pitch. "It exists in the stadium and I can’t stop it - it exists everywhere," he said. "Maybe in England it is a bit more passionate but it exists in France as well. Paris St Germain v Marseille, there is hate. It is everywhere. "I tell my players to prepare mentally, to cope with the commitment and not forget to play our game." Arsenal drew 1-1 at Stoke on Saturday, and Wenger was pleased with the way his side stood up to the physical challenge presented to them. "We prepared to face a battle," he said. "We don’t only come to play our game. When you come here you have players like [Peter] Crouch in front of you and you are tackled on every second ball. "We prepared for that and we try not to be disturbed and keep our calm and composure. We managed to do it for a big part of the game but not always. "It is not only one approach. They do well at what they do and I respect that. They did well in Europe."
