Bayern Munich's director of sport Christian Nerlinger has urged his players to be more aggressive on the pitch at Wolfsburg on Saturday in the wake of their shock defeat to Borussia Moenchengladbach. Bayern were reeling on Sunday after 'Gladbach poached a 1-0 victory -- their first in Munich since 1995 -- which left club president Uli Hoeness and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge fuming. The visitors grabbed the crucial goal at Munich's Allianz Arena after an embarrassing second-half mix-up between Germany defender Jerome Boateng and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, two players who cost the Bavarian giants just over 35 million euros. They failed to deal with a long ball and Belgium's Brazil-born striker Igor de Camargo capitalised on the confusion to fire home. Nerlinger has said the whole team must now raise their game -- starting with Saturday's trip to 2009 champions VfL Wolfsburg, who won 3-0 at Cologne and are early joint league leaders. "We need to change things fundamentally and become more aggressive," Nerlinger told Munich newspaper TZ. "The mindset has to change to allow us to push forward and score goals. "We were too static at times and we have to play with more conviction." 'Gladbach only narrowly avoided relegation last season and Nerlinger called for calm from concerned Bayern fans. "It wasn't a performance which has given us cause for concern," he said. "The disappointment is there, but we're pushing the panic button." However, Nerlinger has called for quick redemption. "On Saturday in Wolfsburg, we must give an answer to our defeat," said Nerlinger. "The team knows what it has to do, so I am quite sure we will get three points to move on from this false start." Bayern's vice-captain Bastian Schweinsteiger warned in German daily Bild that the whole team must improve: "We have to play much smarter or else this will not be a good season."
