Jonas Gutierrez has urged his Newcastle United to learn from their mistakes when they head to Chelsea on Wednesday night (7.45pm kick-off). The Magpies went down 4-0 at strugglers Wigan Athletic on Saturday - with the hosts netting all their goals in the opening period as they ran riot before half-time - to put an end to United's run of six successive victories. And while Gutierrez was gutted to find himself on the wrong end of a heavy defeat, he is determined to put things right in the capital in just a few days time. "It was a big chance for us," the Argentine midfielder told nufc.co.uk. "But sometimes this happens. Wigan played really good football and they made so many chances in the first half. It was very hard for us. "We have been on a great run of form, but sometimes you are going to lose - this is football. We played against a team who had their perfect day, we didn't have a good one, and we just have to be focussed in the next one. "They are one of the best teams who play proper football at the moment, but we had a really poor game. "There is nothing we can do now apart from making sure we don't make the same mistakes in the next one. That is very important. We just have to think to Wednesday now. We have a really big, difficult game at Chelsea. "We are in a good position, we are in the European places which is great for Newcastle, so now we have to think game by game and try to get as many points as we can in the final three games."
