Schalke manager Ralf Rangnick has sounded a warning to Champions League semi-final opponents Manchester United by saying his side can defeat Sir Alex Ferguson’s men in both legs of the tie. Rangnick only took charge of the Bundesliga outfit last month, but has already been able to mastermind their passage to the last four of Europe’s premier club competition by beating holders Inter 5-2 away and 2-1 at home. Schalke host United in the first leg of their semi-final on Tuesday evening, and although their manager is aware they are considered heavy underdogs, their quarter final triumph over Inter has given him confidence in his side’s ability to overcome the Premier League leaders. "We're not aiming for a 0-0," Rangnick said, according to The Sun. "We want to win the game and will certainly play as we did against Inter at home."I mean nobody expected us to win 2-5 at Inter so we will try to win both games." Schalke lost 1-0 at home to Kaiserslautern on Saturday, but Rangnick believes there should not be too much read into the result given that four key players were rested. He added: "If we had started the team we will start on Tuesday we would have less chance of winning. "I don't know if it helps us to be underdogs. It depends how we play our role. If we manage to play it as we did against Inter twice I think we have a chance."
