Holloway - Arabstoday

Aaron Ramsey was as disappointed as anyone after last Saturday’s result and performance at Loftus Road - but he believes the run that preceded it provides plenty of grounds for optimism. The Gunners went into the QPR game on the back of seven consecutive Premier League wins, and the Welshman says that such a sparkling sequence of results probably heightened the frustration at dropping three points against the west London side. Ramsey also rejects any idea that the hosts were more motivated than Arsène Wenger’s men. “They’re obviously fighting for survival at the moment and it was a big three points for them,” he told this Sunday’s Official Matchday Programme. “But I don’t think it’s fair that we didn’t want to win. It wasn’t happening for us but we were trying, and it was just one of those days. “It’s important to keep perspective. We’ve been in such good form and that’s probably why everyone, including all of the players, is disappointed by the performance we gave last Saturday.” For the second successive away game, Ramsey played in a relatively unfamiliar left-sided position. He enjoyed more success in the first, a 1-0 win against Everton, where he believes he should have added to his tally of three goals this term. “The boss just asked me to drift, get on the ball and into little pockets,” he said. “That’s what I’ve tried to do, and I think I played well at Everton - where we were definitely better on the day than at QPR. “I certainly had some chances up there, but it’s not just at Everton - I’ve had a few! I’ve been getting into the positions, but one thing I need to improve on is my composure in front of goal. It’s so frustrating because I really should be putting the ball away. "I think I could have easily reached double figures this season if I’d taken my chances, but I’ll learn from it and I’m sure it’ll click soon.”
