Emirates Auction, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, has sold 60 distinguished number plates for private vehicles of (Category 1) for a total value of more than AED55 million.
This occurred during an auction that Emirates Auction held on Saturday evening, to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Abu Dhabi Police. It was held at the Emirates Palace and attended by 800 people.
Plate Number 2 made history with a record bid of AED10.1 million, recording the highest bid in the auction. This monumental auction demonstrated the strategic partnership between the company and Abu Dhabi Police, in line with the latter’s celebrations of the occasion under the slogan, "Safety and Security."
Plate number 11 ranked second with a winning bid of AED6.45 million. Plate number 10 recorded the third highest bid with AED5.4 million.
The auction saw heated bidding on plate number 2, which recorded over 20 bids, before being sold for AED10.1 million while plate number 22 was sold for AED4.5 million. Plate number 17 was also sold for AED3.3 million, and plate number 60 was sold for AD2.95 million.
Abdulla Matar Al Mannaei, Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates Auction, congratulated the wise leadership of the UAE on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Abu Dhabi Police the directorate that achieved high goals in the fields of safety and security and created a sense of peace and security in the society. He also extended his congratulations to Abu Dhabi Police on the occasion.
Al Mannaei stated that the auction exceeded expectations and reflected the satisfaction of UAE nationals and residents on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Abu Dhabi police. He added that it also showed their deep appreciation and pride in the developmental achievements, and excellence in security performance and policing in accordance with the highest modern standards that reflected the vision of the wise leadership.
