Sixty percent of development projects in Jazan province have been finished and the coming year will see more such schemes supported by the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, said Jazan Gov. Prince Muhammad bin Nasser Tuesday. The prince was addressing local media during the launch of the campaign, entitled "Jazani and I can create dreams for my place," at the local technical college’s Muhammad bin Nasser Hall. He said the Jazan governorate was closely following up on stalled projects and asked contractors to finish them on time. The campaign aims to harness Jazan youths’ energy and creativity as well as increasing environmental and health awareness among locals. The launch ceremony included a documentary featuring the steps needed to implement the campaign. "This campaign is targeting youths of the region — both Saudis and foreigners — and tries to guide them to behave positively," said Jazan Mayor Abdullah Al-Qarin. The three-year campaign will focus in the first year on motivating local residents. In the second year, participants will try to raise awareness on how to make Jazan better, while in the final year they will focus on how to preserve the region’s beauty. The campaign is organized by the Jazan governorate in coordination with various government departments. A special committee has been created to discuss in detail the sustainable development of the region in addition to implementing the campaign.
