A total of seven people were killed and eight others injured in a car crash in Egypt's Monoufeya governorate on Tuesday, official MENA news agency reported, raising the number of deaths from four in an earlier report. It was earlier said that 10 were injured. The accident occurred when a microbus, carrying workers to a factory in Monoufeya, hit a truck on the Manouf-Zawiyet Razin road, north of the capital Cairo.Egypt's Transportation Minister Hatem Abdel-Latif recently said road accidents in Egypt kill about 10,000 people every year and the government is working hard to improve the country's road services. The lack of highway security monitoring system, poor road maintenance and the ignorance of traffic rules are behind the high rate of road accidents in Egypt.
