700 students from 15 public and private educational institutions assembled at the theatre of the New World School in Al Twar-1 for the launch of the first activity of the 24th edition of the global environmental initiative.
Talib Julfar, Assistant Director-General of Dubai Municipality for Environment and Public Health Services Sector, said the forum presented papers on the environment and its laws and provided an integrated awareness package for students.
The forum included an awareness lecture presented by Sheikh Hassan Taher from Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, in which he spoke about the importance of preserving the environment from an Islamic perspective.
