A driver and his eight passengers were trapped in a minibus after it crashed into two other vehicles on Sheikh Zayed Road, police said yesterday.
"Rescuers had to cut the front seat of the vehicle to extricate the driver, in his 40s, who was trapped inside the minibus after colliding with other vehicles," said Col Ahmad Bu Ruqaiba, deputy director of the search and rescue department at Dubai Police.
He said police received a call about a major accident between three vehicles on Sheikh Zayed Road on Tuesday night.
