Mirabaud has awarded H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President and Board Chairman of the SBK Holding, for his humanitarian commitment.

The award is a recognition of the SBK Foundation for bringing Proton technology to the Middle East, which is expected to be transformational in treating cancer patients, improving quality of patients with Thalassemia life, bone marrow transplantations as well as other educational and cultural initiatives.

The award was presented by Yves Mirabaud, Senior Partner at Mirabaud Group and President of the Association of Swiss Private Banks, during Dr. Al Nahyan's visit to Mirabaud’s headquarters in Geneva, where several meetings were held with business leaders and political figures.

Sheikha Sheikha bint Saif Al-Nahyan, wife of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, and Executive Directors of SBK Foundation were accompanied by the Director of the Geneva Hospital and other prominent figures to visit the Hospital's Paediatric Cancer Centre, where she was given an update on the centre’s current activities and information about collaboration between Abu Dhabi based foundation and the Swiss centre.

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa said, "We are very honoured to receive this recognition from Mirabaud. It is testament to the significant effort that our team is putting in place to make sure that people’s health is at the top of our priorities list. The UAE doesn’t only play a role as a dynamic hub for global commerce, but also as a global healthcare centre, and we are proud as a foundation to be a major part of these initiatives. As we continue to grow and evolve, we also continue to look for ways to contribute to the country’s vision and work together with institutions like Mirabaud."

Yves Mirabaud said, "At Mirabaud, we have a firm commitment to sustainable development, and aspire to have a long-term impact both within the company and society as a whole. Through the introduction of Proton therapy into the UAE, the SBK Foundation is one such institution that has shared in our vision to help contribute towards the welfare of the country’s residents. We applaud His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, on the incredible work he has done so far, and we look forward to what he has planned for the future."
