The Al Ain News Portal yesterday launched the 'Little Journalist Initiative' to celebrate Universal Children's Day, with the aim of raising the awareness of children about the importance of the media as a tool for promoting national loyalty.
Many children, both UAE citizens and residents, participated in the initiative, held at the Al Ain News Portal headquarters. The event's activities began with a workshop about news writing, which was followed by another workshop to teach children how to create visual reports.
The Al Ain News Portal launched the event in response to an initiative of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, which aims to empower children and enable them to play an essential role in their communities, as well as to provide them with security and prosperity and reduce the suffering of children who are victims of wars, crises, natural disasters and physical violence.
