The Heritage Festivals Committee - Abu Dhabi, CPHFC, has announced that Al Marzoum Reserve will be open to visitors, including falconry and sport hunting enthusiasts, from November 2017 to February 2018.
Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Director of Planning and Projects at the CPHFC which oversees Al Marzoum, has stated that the reserve will be open to all UAE citizens, residents, visitors and tourists throughout the annual hunting season, adding that visitors can enjoy the scenery and local environment, in addition to practicing hunting, at affordable fees.
The reserve is the first of its kind in the whole world, focusing on falconry, desert horsemanship and other Emirati and Arab heritage elements.
"Al Marzoum Reserve offers falconers the opportunity to practice the sport, within the framework of sustainable hunting, and in compliance with Abu Dhabi hunting laws," added Al Mazrouei.
Ahmed bin Hayai Al Mansouri, Director of Al Marzoum Reserve, said the reserve had organised about 628 hunting trips during the second hunting season of 2016/2017, with 2,100 catches of houbara bustards, hares and gazelles, using falcons and Saluki dogs.
