Yousuf bin Alawi, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, has received a telephone call from US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, regarding the developments in the current Gulf crisis and the situation in Yemen, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two ministers renewed their support for the efforts of the Emir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, to contain the current Gulf crisis.
“The ministers expressed their hope that these efforts will be supported by all parties in order to maintain the security and stability of GCC countries and the joint GCC work process,” the statement said.
Oman’s role was also emphasised to support the efforts of the international community and the United Nations to find a solution to the crisis in Yemen.
