Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa has denied claims posted on social media websites, alledging the death of Bahraini citizens in Cairo. "All Bahrainis residing in Egyptian governorates are fine and the Embassy is in contact with them round the clock", he said. In a telephone call with Bahrain News Agency (BNA), he urged the public not to pay any heed to rumours and allegations. He pointed out that the majority of Bahrainis had already left Egyptian territories, before June 30, 2013. "Around 90 Bahrainis are still in Egypt, most of whom are students who haven't finished their university exams", Shaikh Rashid. He pointed out that the Cairo-based Bahraini embassy dispenses services round the clock to all Bahrainis in across Egyptian Governorates, in line with the directives of Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa. Shaikh Rashid urged all Bahrainis to keep off flashpoints and commit to instructions issued by the Egyptian security authorities, stressing the Embassy's keenness on Bahrainis' safety and security.
