President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, on Friday welcomed a delegation of Lebanon's Lions Club headed by Nasrallah Al-Burji.
"Have no fear," Aoun told the delegation. "With us there will be no crises. Everything can be solved for the best interest of Lebanon."
The President went on to say that despite everything that Lebanon had endured within the last few days, the country still managed to fortify its internal unity and overcome the crisis with great diplomatic efforts.
"There are those who trying to turn the issue into a political crisis," Aoun said, reaffirming that any sort of crisis could be resolved for Lebanon's best interest.
The President went on to describe this year's Independence Day "a real holiday" that was felt by all the Lebanese alike.
"Our decision is 100% free and we succeeded in its implementation; no one has the ability to influence us or threaten our independence and sovereignty. Rest assured, our nation today deals with other countries on equal basis," Aoun told his visitors.
Separately, President Aoun welcomed Lebanese Central Bank Governor, Riad Salameh, who briefed him on the country's financial situation within the framework of the President's daily follow-up on the movement of financial markets.
On emerging, Salameh confirmed that the financial markets in Lebanon witnessed a positive movement.
"The US dollar is no longer in demand, and the price of Lebanese bonds in US dollars has risen abroad. This is a positive sign and an additional indicator of confidence in the financial situation in Lebanon," Salameh said.
"Recent political developments have contributed to the positive financial situation in the country," Salameh added.
Later during the day, the President welcomed National Defense Minister, Yacoub Sarraf, and discussed with him the general situation in the country, especially at the security level. The pair also discussed the needs of the military institution
