The Cairo Court for Urgent Matters decided on Sunday to postpone to December 4 an appeal presented by some lawyers on a ruling issued earlier which called for halting the implementation of the administrative justice court of the state council's ruling on the annulment of a maritime border demarcation agreement between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia had reached a deal whereby Egypt was due to hand over Tiran and Sanafir isles to Saudi Arabia but the Cairo Court for Urgent Matters issued a ruling in September suspending the administrative court ruling on the isles.
The lawyers who presented the appeal had said the state council justice was not competent to consider such deals.
