Arab League Assistant Secretary General for Media Affairs Haifa Abu Ghazaleh on Tuesday warned of the danger of distorting the image of Arabs and Muslims and fabricating terrorism charges against them.
Media outlets have a role in promoting such negative mental image on the Arab world by broadcasting terrifying scenes of terrorism committed by Daesh gangs in the Arab region, she added during a round-table organized by the Arab League on opportunities and challenges facing the future of the Arab media.
Abu Ghazaleh urged the Arab media to promote its vital role in the face of violence and terrorism along with serving justice, peace and human rights.
The round-table was organized on the occasion of the Arab Media Day and in conjunction with the 47th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information.
