Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry announced Monday that the Arab states are currently in the process of forming a unified front to deal with Iran's interventions in Arab countries' affairs.
The approach to form this front is to be completed in the next two weeks, Shoukry said in a press conference on the sidelines of the Arab foreign ministers meetings in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, adding that his country's tension with Tehran is historic and dated back to a quarter of a century ago due to the Islamic republic's policies, interventions in other countries' affairs, and fomenting of sectarianism in the region, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Earlier, the Arab Quartet discussed developments of the crisis with Iran and ways to counter Tehran's interventions in Arab states' internal affairs.
Egypt had strongly condemned the attacks that targeted Saudi Arabia's Embassy in Tehran and its Consulate in Mashhad on January 2, KUNA reported.
