An expatriate worker drowned in a well in Suwaiq while carrying out maintenance work deep inside the bore, according to a Royal Oman Police (ROP) press release. "The worker went inside the narrow well late on Saturday evening but when he failed to come up for some time, police were informed," according to Hamoud Al Zaidi of the ROP Public Relations Department. "As the bore was very deep and narrow the visibility was very poor leading to search operations going on for hours," he said, adding that the body was eventually pulled out by the divers from the Civil Defence late on Sunday afternoon.
