The Ministry of Awqaf dismissed media reports about issuing a fatwa about leasing furnished apartments.
No fatwa has been issued in this respect, a well-placed source at the ministry told MENA on Friday.
In an article in a state-owned newspaper, the Awqaf minister urged citizens to be cautious, especially while dealing with leasees to avoid unintentional sheltering of terrorists, the source said.
The minister called for being vigilant while dealing with foreigners and carefully checking the IDs of leasees, the source added.
The source's statements came in response to a report published by a website under the theme of the Awqaf minister's fatwa on furnished apartments.
