Baghdad population reaches more than 8 million

Iraq's Ministry of Planning revealed today that the population of Baghdad amounted to more than eight million people, highlighting the capital's need for many amenities.
The Iraqi Minister of Planning, Salman Jumaili said on the sidelines of his meeting with the Governor of Baghdad, Atwan al-Atwani, that the city is of particular importance and therefore should receive the necessary attention it requires as it holds the largest urban population that exceeded eight million individuals.
