The Beirut International Awards Festival, BIAF, 2017 in its 8th session, has honoured Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, during the ceremony held in Beirut, under the patronage and attendance of the Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, and a number of political, social, artistic and media figures.

Ambassador Al Shamsi was one of the first dignitaries of the festival, where he received the award of excellence and creativity in appreciation of the UAE's humanitarian and charitable role in Lebanon.

During the ceremony, the audience observed a documentary film that reviewed the humanitarian, political and social activities of the ambassador, and reviewed the UAE achievements in Lebanon, including the financing of the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital in Shebaa, and the opening of more than 32 development projects in a number of villages in Akkar, and Miniyeh-Danniyeh District.
