Beirut - Arab Today

Speaker Nabih Berri called on Parliament members to convene in session on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 22 and 23.

On the other hand, Speaker Berri cabled his Spanish counterpart and Spain's Senate President expressing condolences on the victims who fell in the terrorist attack that targeted Barcelona yesterday, stressing "solidarity with Spain in the face of terrorism."

Berri said Lebanon was committed to calling for "united and orderly international action through a UN-led operations room to confront cross-border terrorism and dry up its resources."

Earlier, Berri met with Iraqi Vice President Ayad Allawi and his accompanying delegation, with talks reportedly touching on most recent developments in the region and the bilateral ties.

This afternoon, Berri met with the newly accredited French Ambassador to Lebanon, Bruno Foucher, who came on a protocol visit. Talks reportedly touched on the current regional situation and the Lebanese-French ties.

Bilateral relations between Lebanon and Sri Lanka also featured high on today's talks between Berri and Sri Lankan Deputy Foreign Minister
