House Speaker Nabih Berri on Friday met at his Ain Tineh residence with the senior Adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Akbar Velayati, in the presence of Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohamed Fathali, and his accompanying delegation.
Talks reportedly touched on the current situation in the region, in addition to the bilateral ties between the two countries.
On emerging, Velayati described the meeting as "very positive and beneficial", congratulating him on the recent victories realized by Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, thanks to the resistance and the peoples of the region.
Velayati also affirmed that the American attempts to disintegrate Syria into two parts shall fail, anticipating advancement of the pro forces in Syria in east Euphrates and the liberation of the city of Reqqa in the near future
