His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired at Gudaibiya Palace today a work meeting with the Housing Minister, the Work, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning Minister and the Labour and Social Development Minister to follow up on work progress in many services projects.

HRH the Premier directed ministers and officials to deal seriously and constructively with issues raised by citizens via mass media and remove obstacles to services projects. He stressed that catering for citizens’ needs and boosting their welfare is top priority in all government programmes. He also affirmed the government’s resolve to spare no effort to optimize services and carry out projects without any delay given their importance in improving citizens’ life.

HRH the Prime Minister underlined the government’s keenness on implementing projects aimed at boosting citizens’ welfare and fast-tracking development stressing the importance of field visits to villages and towns to reach out to citizens and cater for their needs.

After listening to an account by Housing Minister Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar on work progress in many housing projects, HRH the Premier directed to work out mechanisms to cater for housing demands nationwide and speed up implementation of the ongoing housing projects. He affirmed that the government is going ahead with its strategy aimed at providing decent housing for citizens and adopting initiatives to reduce the waiting lists.

HRH the Prime Minister also listened to an account by the Work, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf on the projects implemented by the ministry across Bahrain. He directed the Work, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry to provide more car parks in Muharraq and other regions with high population density. He also got informed about the measures taken by the Labour and Social Development Ministry to carry out a resolution by the cabinet to cater for the needs of citizens in many villages and regions and ensure sufficiency of the services provided for them.
