Following directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, Labour and Social Development Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, handed over cheques to citizens whose houses had been damaged as a result of the oil pipeline explosion in Buri village.


Northern Governor, Ali bin Abdulhussain Al-Asfoor, Northern Governorate Police Director-General, Brigadier Abdulla Khalifa Al-Jairan, Buri Charity Society Chairman, Abdul-Rasool Ahmed Al-Hujairi, and a number of the Ministry’s officials were present.

The minister presented cheques to 25 beneficiaries who are entitled to compensations, in line with the Labour and Social Development Ministry’s responsibility to compensate those affected by house fires through the provision of temporary residence to them until their houses are repaired.

The damaged houses were classified into three categories, ranging between critical, medium and simple, and compensations reached a maximum of BD 2,000.

Humaidan lauded the directives of the leadership to all the relevant officials to address the situation promptly and determine the needs of eth affected citizens, noting that the incident has shown the real authentic image of the Bahraini people whose members, he said, have always been known for their solidarity and love for each other.

He extended thanks and appreciation to all official and local parties who took the initiative and worked as a team to address the negative impacts of the terrorist attack.

Northern Governor stressed that the oil pipeline explosion in unprecedented in Bahrain’s history, lauding the leadership’s directives to deal with the crisis quickly and identify the needs of the affected citizens.

Buri Charity Society chairman lauded the role played by the Labour and Social Development Ministry and all the relevant parties for their swift dealing with the crisis in order to provide relief for those affected by the fire.
