A delegation from the Republic of Colombia praised the great strides made by the UAE in the field of infrastructure and institutional work, as well as the efficient supervision of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development over the various projects.
The Colombian delegation visited the Ministry of Infrastructure Development in Dubai today to view the best practices followed by the ministry and its experiences in the field of infrastructure development in the UAE.
During her meeting with the delegation, Eng. Anwaar Al Shimmari, Director of the Design Department at the Ministry, spoke about the most prominent accomplishments of the ministry in the infrastructure field and its work mechanism to develop the sustainability system in the country.
She underlined that the UAE Government was giving infrastructure projects great importance owing to their role in achieving overall development, and affirmed that the Ministry of Infrastructure Development was the executive arm of the Federal Government and worked in co-operation with its strategic partners, both federal and local.
She pointed out that the ministry was working to execute infrastructure projects according to the most sophisticated global specifications and standards, with the aim of achieving a prestigious stature for the country internationally, as well as to preserve the advancements made by the country during its journey, such as the UAE taking the lead internationally in terms of quality of roads for four consecutive years, according to the Global Competitiveness Report issued by the Davos World Economic Forum.
She mentioned that the ministry’s projects contributed greatly in supporting the economic growth witnessed by the UAE and achieving the highest happiness indicators for the citizens and residents in the UAE, which helped support the national agenda of the country and achieve the goals of the UAE Centennial 2071.
Eng. Anwaar Al Shimmari also gave a detailed explanation to the delegation about the various stages that the project undergoes, starting from studying, designing and awarding of the project, concluding with its execution.
The members of the visiting Colombian delegation thanked the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, noting that the aim of its visit was to benefit from the UAE’s exceptional experience in the infrastructure field and viewing its best practices in this field.
