The Council of parties of National Unity Government has called on the Government of Southern Sudan to distance itself from issues leading to a different situation with Sudan and do not serve the interests of the people of the two countries .
The Secretary-General of the Council, Aboud Jaber, said in a statement to the SUNA that the current Developments in the State of South Sudan requires consideration of what serves the issues of the peoples of the two countries, and respect for the sovereignty of Sudan .
He stressed that Sudan would not give up its great role in helping the people of Southern Sudan in its current crisis .
Jaber expected that Sudan will overcome all the challenges facing it and move towards stability and development, especially in light of the developments in Sudan-US relations .
He lauded the efforts exerted to develop Sudan's foreign relations with all countries, pointing out to the importance of enhancing the role of popular diplomacy in this regard .
