Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul-Latif Derian, on Saturday, voiced support to the Lebanese Army in its offensive battle against Daesh in the outskirts of Ras Baalbek and Qaa towns.


Derian called on all the Lebanese people "to rally around the Lebanese army because it is the only force that can guarantee the nation's security and stability."


"Fajr al-Joroud Operation launched by the Lebanese army in the outskirts of Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa against Daesh is a victory for the State, the Lebanese government and the army," said Derian in an issued statement.


He deemed that "the Lebanese army is capable of protecting the Lebanese borders and eradicating the perpetrators."


Derian also praised the "heroic sacrifices that the Lebanese army is undergoing to end the terrorism plague along the Lebanese borders."


The Mufti reiterated complete support to the Lebanese Army in its current battle against terrorism, in addition to boosting the State's control over the whole country
