The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has accepted the Dubai Fitness Challenge, launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. The challenge aims to make Dubai one of the most active cities in the world.

The challenge aims through a comprehensive programme to motivate Dubai’s residents and visitors to boost their physical activity and commit to a minimum of 30 minutes of daily physical activities for 30 days, from 20th October to 18th November 2017.

"I thank H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed for his continuous support to sports in Dubai, and for launching this innovative challenge that motivates positive competition and encourages all members of society to adopt a healthy lifestyle in an atmosphere full of fun and various interesting activities. At DEWA, we are ready to accept the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Our goal is to ensure that all DEWA employees take part in this pioneering initiative," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources and Chairman of the Sports Committee at DEWA, praised the unlimited support provided by DEWA’s top management to the employees, and the encouragement to participate in various sports tournaments and physical activities. He noted that DEWA organises awareness and health-related programmes and activities that contribute to improving the physical fitness of its staff. It also organises events that raise awareness about best practices to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
