Data Hub Integrated Solutions, MORO, a fully-owned subsidiary of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dell to enhance collaboration and partnership between the two companies and to develop and deliver cloud computing solutions, integrated infrastructure administration services and servers, secure data storage solutions, and innovative information technology applications.

Dell Technologies comprises of several subsidiaries, which includes Dell, Dell EMC, RSA, Virtustream, VMWare, Pivotal and SecureWorks.

The MoU was signed by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, and Mohammed Amin, Senior Vice President at Dell EMC, Middle East, Turkey and Africa.

The MoU facilitates enhanced collaboration in numerous areas, such as development of cloud computing, e-security, automated learning (artificial intelligence), big data and analytics, storage, backup and archiving services, and the provision of a technical infrastructure for the public and private sectors and service providers.

The MoU will enable MORO to introduce innovative applications and accelerate the delivery of digital services in Dubai, which supports the UAE's vision to become a vibrant regional hub that can service the region and the world through its advanced facilities and infrastructure.

"To support the Smart Dubai initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the world’s smartest and happiest city, we established MORO to support the provision of innovative smart services in the city. MORO, headquartered in Dubai, provides integrated solutions to the public and private sectors through advanced smart technologies that deliver world-class services to citizens, residents and visitors in Dubai," said Saeed Al Tayer.

"The coordination between forward-thinking local organisations and globally-experienced technology firms is the foundation on which the UAE’s National Innovation Strategy will be built.
