The Popular Congress Party on Saturday announced it would be taking part in the coming National Accord Government, as part of a popular and wide participation that would target handing issues of concern to the community.
In a statement from the Secretary General of the Popular Congress Party, Dr. Ali Al Hajj, following a meeting with the president of the republic, Hajj said during that meeting which occurred on Tuesday the two sides underlined the need for cooperation and coordination between the various political parties and forces in the country in support of the political accord.
The statement said the secretary general of the party Dr. Ali Al |Hajj Mohamed met with president Bashir on Tuesday and that this was the first meeting between the two since the election of Hajj as Secretary General of the Popular Congress Party.
The statement by Ali Al Hajj, stressed that they agreed on the need for the coordination and cooperation between the various political forces and that the two sides also disc used issues related to halting the war and realization of peace through negotiations, as well as dwelling on issues related to the living conditions of the people.
The statement said the party has reaffirmed the participation at the political and executive levels and to work towards a wider popular and effective participation that would target issues of urgency to the people according to mechanisms upon which agreement would be reached.
The statement said the meeting also blessed and express appreciation for the steps undertaken by the president of the republic for restoring the Arab, African and Islamic relations.
The meeting also appreciated he positive step adopted by the US administration on lifting sanctions against the Sudan expressing hope that this would be followed by lifting the name of the Sudan from the list of countries sponsors of international terrorism.
