Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Culture, has highlighted its ongoing efforts to raise awareness of the UAE’s growing heritage scene by taking part in an event at Dubai Mall which was designed to celebrate the country's rich history by reaching out to the community via a range of engaging heritage workshops and cultural activities.
The event, which took place from 9th to the 12th October, showcased traditional crafts, including coffee making, Al Talli embroidery making, and silver engraving, which attendees enjoyed watching being created live in front of them by skilled artisans.
Dubai Culture’s contribution to the event’s success, by providing its craftsmen and women, reflects the authority’s commitment to supporting local craftsmen and ensuring that these arts are never lost, which is an important part of its wider mandate to preserve UAE heritage and pass it onto future generations.
Dubai Culture aims to enhance the cultural scene and draw attention to the emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit citizens, residents and visitors.
