Egyptian President's Spokesman Yasser Ali moved swiftly Monday to deny reports that the Egyptian government will be announced Thursday. Dr. Mohammed Morsi was declared president of Egypt last month. He is yet to name his government however. Despite reports that said the President was ready to name his cabinet Thursday, his spokesman confirmed that the new cabinet's formation was far from being completed. The new government will be formed "as soon as possible", although "not on Thursday," he said. The rumor gained momentum when a statement quoting a Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) official, Morsi's party, said that the new cabinet will be announced Thursday. The statement had also revealed that the Prime Minister would not be from the FJP. However Muslim Brotherhood and FJP member Essam Al Erian moved swiftly to dismiss the statement, according to Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram.
