Egypt's Mufti hails Grand Imam's Vatican visit

Egypt's Mufti Shawqi Allam praised a visit paid by Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb to the Vatican earlier on Monday.
In a statement, Allam said the visit came at a crucial time as the world needs cooperation between all sides to promote peace and tolerance.
He also hailed Azhar's imitative to resume dialogue with the Vatican.
Tayyeb arrived at the Vatican earlier on a historic visit, the first of its kind, leading an Azhar delegation comprising undersecretary Abbas Shoman, head of Al Azhar Interfaith Dialogue Center Mahmoud Zaqzouq and Secretary General of the Islamic Research Academy Mohieddin Afifi.
