To complete the second phase of renovation of Emirates Road, particularly the National Paints roundabout, traffic will be diverted from the square located under Industrial Area bridge no.5 (National Paints roundabout) to other alternative routes effective from June 22. The project that will be accomplished as part of the second phase was recently highlighted in a meeting held by officials of Sharjah Police, Ministry of Public Works and the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works. The meeting discussed preparations to be adopted to ensure traffic flow would not be affected by the road closure. The new project will feature expansion of the road that will have five lanes on each side in addition to a service road. More bridges will be built while renovating the five main intersections on the road, including Sharjah Ring Road intersection, Industrial Area no.5 intersection, King Abdul Aziz intersection, University City intersection and Al Dhaid intersection. The project will also feature renovating the entrance to Dubai from Sharjah and the drainage system on the road.
