Jumaa Al Mazrouei, Director of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, team in Aden, was briefed about the progress of work in the second phase of the rehabilitation of Aden International Airport, which has reached 80 percent completion.
This includes the construction of a security fence and opening of an external gate for passengers from the east side of the airport.
Director-General of Aden International Airport, Tariq Abdo, who accompanied Al Mazrouei during the visit, said that the work is expected to be completed within the next week at the most.
Since its liberation in August 2015, the UAE has been working on rehabilitating the airport. The country's efforts have resulted in re-operating the airport after it was heavily destroyed during the war launched by the Houthi and Saleh militia in Aden.
