Ambassador Christina Lassen, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon, met today with President Michel Aoun.
Ambassador Lassen congratulated the President for the successful military operation around Arsal and expressed her appreciation of the determination of the Lebanese Armed Forces and the security agencies in maintaining the stability and security of Lebanon.
She also extended her condolences for the killing of Lebanese soldiers who, in the recent operations and since 2014, have lost their lives defending the Lebanese eastern border against extremist groups. Ambassador Lassen reiterated the European Union's full support to the LAF's mission in fighting terrorism and to secure Lebanon's borders
