Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa.
Manama - Arab Today

The executive and the legislative branches will meet in the coming days to discuss the restructuring of Government subsidies to benefit eligible Bahraini families and citizens. "The subsidies rethink is based on the royal directives issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa", said Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Deputy Premier, Head of the Ministerial Committee for Financial Affairs and Rationalising Expenditure.

He said that the consultative and coordination meetings will focus on rechanneling subsidies to focus mainly on low and medium income households and citizens. His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier directed, during yesterday’s Cabinet session, to restructure subsidies and study the eligibility mechanism, based on unified legislative procedures. HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince also stressed the implementation of the Government Action Plan (2015-2018) – including the restructuring of the Government subsidies.
