Flag Island, TFI, a premier tourist destination in Sharjah and one of the UAE’s most iconic national landmarks, is holding a special evening of events to launch six months of packed activities.
The opening will provide a networking opportunity for artists, writers, poets, singers and dancers, as well as a variety of acts for visitors as part of its vision to strengthen community ties and encourage creative arts.
The event, ‘Fualat Al Asr’, a traditional Emirati evening of entertainment, takes place on this Friday at TFI’s amphitheater between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., and aims to establish a community space for creative minds at Flag Island and will include a range of amusements from ice-breaking games and performances to a Q&A session and open mic opportunity with live jam shows.
The six-month schedule includes performing arts and art and design programmes as well as markets and community, education and fitness programmes.
Khuloud Al Junaibi, Manager of Flag Island, commented, "Flag Island represents a gathering place for all members of our community and Fualat Al Asr is an opportunity for artisans, entertainers and authors to meet and discover new ventures for their creativity.
"There are so many talented artists within our society and this will bring them together and encourage them to pursue their vocation and understand new concepts," she added.
Along with a full selection of food and beverage during the evening, many of the acts will be interacting with audiences and offer the chance to give their own performances on the night. The evening will begin with a welcome band by Dibba, followed by Krazzy Games, Lindy Hop Performance, Noble Poetry Club, Dubai Poetry Slam and The Green Room.
