Former mufti of Egypt Dr. Ali Gomaa
Cairo - Arab Today

Former mufti of Egypt Dr. Ali Gomaa on Friday said that the failed assassination attempt would not discourage him from doing and saying what's right.

In statements, Gomaa said that the failed attempt on his life proves the terrorists' inability to carry out their plots, believing it will be used to track them down.

Earlier in the day, two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at Gomaa as he was entering a mosque in the 6th of October City to perform Friday congregational prayers.

His bodyguard was slightly injured and the two gunmen fled the scene.
