The Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi (DoT) revealed paid parking permit holders of residential villas the city of Abu Dhabi are allowed to park their cars for any amount of time for free. They can park in the black and turquoise sub-parking lots designated for them for free, provided that they stick to the regulations. The DoT pointed out that vehicles that carry permits of villas would be fined by a different public body if the car was parked and left unclean for a long period of time, confirming that Mawaqif does not have any relation with such violations. It also explained that each citizen or expatriate residing in a villa in Abu Dhabi has the right to extract a permit for the paid parking from the Mawaqif customer service centre.
