Lebanese Forces Chief, Samir Geagea, said Sunday that the key to a real change could be achieved through the ballot boxes.
"Many of you complain over several issues, but this is not enough. The key to change is in the voters' hand through casting their votes in the ballot boxes and electing their representatives," Geagea said during a luncheon banquet hosted in his honor by the Lebanese Forces Party in Sidney, Australia.
Geagea urged the Lebanese expatriates, especially those who live in Australia, to register their names with the Lebanese Consulate in order to cast their votes in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Commenting on the issue of the displaced Syrians, he noted that Lebanon could no longer bear the burden of the displaced, especially in wake of the negative repercussions on the economic, infrastructure, security, social and demographic situation.
Geagea called for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland, saying "there are safe zones in Syria and it is essential for the displaced to return to their country."
He urged the government to begin serious work in this respect, asserting that the Syrian refugees' return is a sovereign decision that the government has to take.
Touching on the condition of the Christians in the Levant, Geagea stressed that Christians of the Levant are capable of determining their destiny.
He deemed that "the theory of the alliance of minorities is a false theory," calling on them to take a stand with or against the events in their region from a moral and principle point of view.
"Lebanon is a great country with great people. No one is aware of the value and worth of its human capacity. We are able to make a change through a simple election process, to move our country to a better place as we dream for it to be," Geagea concluded
