Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali and Acting Cairo Governor Ahmed Taymour offered EGP 2.3 million in aid to families of those died or those affected by the two fire incidents that engulfed downtown districts of Attaba and Ghoureya.
Three persons were killed and 82 others wounded in a massive fire that hit Attaba area earlier the month. The Ghoureya fire, that came two days after the Attaba fire, left 17 persons wounded but no deaths were reported.
She asserted that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pays great attention to those affected by the two blaze incidents.
This came during a press conference held by the Social Solidarity Ministry to provide the financial assistance to the families of the deceased and those suffered by the two fires.
The financial aid is not a compensation for the losses incurred by those affected by the two fires, the minister underlined.
Wali said that she is willing to provide any social services requested by the affected people.
Property losses caused by the Attaba blaze are estimated at EGP 400 million (around $45 million) after the fire engulfed 238 shops.
