The Security Committee at the Northern Governorate, chaired by Governor Ali bin Abdulhussain Al-Asfoor, discussed during its 11th meeting held here today the necessary programmes and social projects to contain the security situation.
It also discussed the development of a work mechanism for the logistical preparations for the mid-February phase.
The governor commended the efforts exerted by the committee members, and expressed hope that the commemoration of the National Action Charter anniversary will be joyful commensurate to the landmark achievements attained by the kingdom under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Reform Project.
He also expressed thanks to the Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, for support for the Northern Governorate’s programmes and plans.
He stressed the importance of strategic follow-up through developing precautionary plans to avoid any destructive attempts on security and public order in cooperation with the Northern Governorate Police Directorate, the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning and the Northern Municipality.
He affirmed that the experience of the previous three years had proved the success of joint action in addressing the security situation with great readiness and willingness to deal with various reports.
Al-Asfoor suggested strengthening the role of civil society organisations in maintaining security and stability.
He also suggested finding a joint action formula to take advantage of the private sector in facing disasters and crises in coordination and cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defence through holding training sessions.
The panel was informed, through a statistical presentation by the head of the security department in the Northern Governorate, Major Salman Amir al-Zarqawi , about riot crimes in the areas across the governorate.
Through the presentation, the committee aimed to put forward a precautionary security plan within efforts to strengthen the preventive security for emergency situations similar to the success of the security plans in recent years to raise the efficiency and the quality of the security situation.
Head of the Public Relations and Media, Malik Mohammed Ali Al-Ghasra, also staged a presentation on the field tours and visits made by the governor on February 14, 2017.
